Agents Inspired By South Pacific Destinations At Treasures Of The South Pacific Event
26 April 2018The SPTO has concluded a week of tourism statistics, sustainable tourism and product & destination marketing training workshops in the Federated States of Micronesia and Marshall Islands.
In collaboration with its government members, the FSM Department of Resources & Development and the Marshall Islands Visitors Authority; the 4-day workshop provided capacity and knowledge building training for key stakeholders in the public and private sector. These included Immigration, Customs, Investment and Trade, Communications, Tour and transport operators, Dive and Hotel operators, Handicraft entrepreneurs, national and state tourism offices.
A growing need for specialized training by SPTO’s smaller island countries to support priority areas for tourism development has seen SPTO’s kick-start their capacity building programme for 2018. The programme was facilitated by SPTO Managers; Christina Leala-Gale (Sustainable Tourism Development), Elizabeth Ragimana (Research & Statistics) and Alisi Lutu (Marketing).
The training concludes today in Majuro, Marshall Islands.
