Have Your Say on Tourism
22 December 2020Bula Vinaka Everyone,
Yesterday marked my last day at Tourism Fiji. It has been my honour and pleasure to serve Fiji, which has also been home to my family for the last 4.5 years.
In this time, I have seen the destination achieve many remarkable accomplishments. This has been possible through a strong partnership between Tourism Fiji and the tourism industry. I’m so grateful for this support, and know you will provide the same support to Robert Thompson as he steps in from today as Acting CEO for the organisation.
I’m also particularly grateful for the guidance provided to me by Tourism Fiji’s Board of Directors and leadership of its Chair, Andre Viljoen, to build the organisation into the contemporary marketing organisation it is today.
Doing this has also been very much a team effort, made possible through the commitment of the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism & Transport, and I pass on a huge vinaka vakalevu to the Minister, Honourable Faiyaz Koya and Permanent Secretary Shaheen Ali for all their ongoing support of Tourism Fiji and the tourism industry. As for my family and I, this is not ‘goodbye’ but rather ‘Sota Tale’ as we will see you all again, as a visitor, in 2021. Fiji’s Bula Spirit will forever have a place in our hearts. We would truly like to wish you all the very best for the new year. Whatever 2021 will bring, your resilience has proven to be one of your greatest strengths so please keep sharing happiness with the rest of the world….
