Pacific Tourism Organisation Engages Key Stakeholders in Planning for SPTE 2025
31 March 2025The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) met with Tanoa International Hotel management as part of ongoing industry engagement efforts, discussing key updates on renovations, sustainability initiatives, and industry collaboration.
SPTO Marketing Manager Kiniviliame Raicebe and Marketing Officer Natasha Ram met with Tanoa International Hotel General Manager Daniel Roy and Director of Sales & Marketing Kushend Kumar to discuss the SPTO’s Industry Membership Programme (IMP). Confirming that Tanoa Samoa and Tanoa Tonga have joined the initiative. SPTO provided an overview of the proposed membership transition structure, ensuring that benefits align more closely with industry needs across sectors such as hotels & resorts, aviation, and academia.
“SPTO is committed to strengthening industry partnerships to support the growth and development of tourism in the region,” SPTO Chief Executive Officer Christopher Cocker shared. “The IMP transition will provide greater value to our members, ensuring they have the right resources and opportunities to thrive.”
Roy also highlighted Tanoa International’s commitment to sustainability, including sustainable resources within the hotel.
A key development is the establishment of a dedicated conference marquee at the hotel’s tennis court, addressing the rising demand for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facilities. The venue, designed to host up to 250 guests, will officially launch with its first conference on March 24, 2025.
“Tanoa International’s investment in expanded conference facilities is a great boost for the region’s MICE sector,” added Cocker. “This initiative will enhance the hotel’s capacity to cater to high-profile events and drive revenue growth. We continue to thank the Tanoa Hotels for their loyalty to being an SPTO IMP member.”
SPTO will continue to engage with Tanoa International Hotel to ensure a smooth transition into the IMP membership structure, keeping them informed about fee updates and industry opportunities.
