Sustainability Champion: Hotel Gondwana

The Hotel Gondwana is the only hotel certified as High Environmental Quality (HQE) in Noumea.  It ensures the following strong values and features to be able to have the HQE Label and be part of an eco-responsible environment.

• Windows and doors guarantee acoustic and thermal insulation, LED lighting makes it possible to control electricity consumption, fans, which are particularly efficient, limit the use of air-conditioning.
• Less visible but just as effective, ecological installations and processes play the game of sustainable development behind the scenes, with photovoltaic panels and the first thermodynamic water heaters on the rooftops, waste sorting and recycling
• The ecological approach does not limit itself to reducing energy consumption and limiting waste, it also extends to the individual involvement of our team members who share the same strong values

Previously known as the Lutetia Hotel (established in 1956), the Gondwana came under new ownership in 2008 which is when the transition to a future-focused and more eco-responsible. The Gondwana prides itself on providing good value for money whilst also caring for the environment.
