Tropica Island Resort

It was a Fijian holiday in 2009 for Australian couple Rob and Sue that set in motion a chain of events that completely changed their lives. Rob a man of great vision saw what was then ‘Walu Beach Resort’, and knew he had stumbled onto a piece of paradise. The decision to buy the resort was only natural as they both held Fiji and its culture deeply in their hearts and had always dreamt about owning a property there. Two years after they paddled over to have a look at the resort that was for sale, the Cecconi family embarked on a journey to Fiji that they could never have imagined.

The location already had the holiday essentials; beautiful blue waters, white sandy beaches and perfectly placed palm trees. The only challenge left to bring this piece of heaven to life was to undergo an extensive upgrade on the property. And as one who never shies away from a challenge, Rob and his team set out to bring his vision to life, setting the foundation for their magical getaway to paradise. After nearly a year of renovations, the property officially opened in 2013 as Tropica Island Resort. It was always their focus to build a resort with a difference but at the same time ensure it remained quintessentially Fijian.
