About
The Pacific region is experiencing a transformative shift in its tourism industry, influenced by the need for sustainable and responsible development and economic growth, especially in rural and isolated areas. Recognising the potential to address challenges and enhance competitiveness, stakeholders in the tourism sector are encouraged to adopt innovative practices that contribute to the region’s development goals and promote cultural and environmental preservation.
The Pacific Sustainable Tourism Portal serves as a vital resource to support the goals outlined in the 2030 Pacific Sustainable Tourism Policy Framework. By fostering collaboration among governments, industry partners, and local communities, the Portal aims to share best practices and provide tools for implementing sustainable tourism strategies. Its mission is to empower the tourism sector to deliver meaningful benefits to both the communities and ecosystems of the Pacific, ultimately contributing to a more resilient and inclusive tourism landscape.
Aim
