29 August 2017The Parc Expo de Mamao, the former site of the hospital, is hosting for the first time in its space, the Tourism Fair organized by Tahiti Tourism, in partnership with Air Tahiti.
The opening of this 19th edition is scheduled for Friday, September 1 (8:00 am – 6:00 pm) until Sunday, September 3 at 4:00 pm.
This is the most anticipated tourist attraction of local professionals and local people.
Since its inception in 2007, Tahiti Tourisme has been constantly striving to find the ideal site adapted to this event that can offer all the amenities to an ever more demanding public. The venues that have hosted the tourism fair for the last ten years are numerous: Vaitupa Square in Faa’a, Place Toata, Presidency of French Polynesia, Place Tarahoi and among them, a must-see place, Place Aora’i Tinihau where the last edition was held in February.
Today, the Parc Expo de Mamao, located in Papeete, will welcome exhibitors and visitors to this new edition, with a parking area with enough parking space and a pharmacy, a bank and a vending machine Of tickets. A nursery (which has cared for 300 children on the 3 days of the show during the last edition) as well as more important catering areas will be proposed on this new place.
More than 15,000 visitors are expected during the show.
The 18th edition of the Tourism Fair, held from 3 to 5 February, produced the following results: 3,330 tickets sold; 74% of stays sold include accommodation in boarding houses; 15% of stays sold include hotel accommodation; 11% of stays sold for the undetermined; 11 639 nights sold in total.
