6 December 2017In July 2017, the tourist attendance of French Polynesia increased by 9.9% compared to July 2016, reveals the ISPF in its monthly statement.
The number of tourists in land accommodation (18,003 against 16,236) increased by 10.9% while the number of tourists in floating accommodation decreased by five points.
North America, France and the Pacific (72% of the workforce) are the main markets present in French Polynesia this month.
The metropolitan market confirms its good results since the beginning of the year and obtains its best result (+ 16.2%) over a month of July since 2000. Thus, 5962 metropolises were counted during this period.
The number of tourist nights increased slightly faster than tourist attendance (+ 12.3%) with the increase in the number of paid-up nights (+ 11.7%). It contributes 7.1 points to the overall evolution.
Since the beginning of 2017, French Polynesia has welcomed 113,107 tourists, an increase of 1.9% over the previous year. The number of overnight stays increased (+ 3.8%) to 1,578,000 overnight stays.
