The Tanoa Hotel Group is relaunching its Tanoa Plaza Hotel in Suva.
The hotel held a cocktail event to update its clients from Suva about the recent developments at the Group.
This was also a platform to convey the hotel’s gratitude to its partners and stakeholders, said director of sales Nick Ridling.
“What we are celebrating this year is our success and expansion in the South Pacific,” he said.
Although there is no upcoming projects for the Tanoa Group Hotels, Mr Ridling said that they were looking into major refurbishment works in Suva.
“We have already started refurbishing the rooms so it will take six-eight months to complete,” Mr Ridling said.
“Every room will be refurbished, as in totally rebuilt and all the public areas as well.
“The hotel will be relaunched as a pretty brand new hotel.”
When asked if Tanoa Hotel Group would be expanding its hotels as to accommodate the increasing number of tourists visiting Fiji, Mr Ridling said: “Tanoa’s business is so different to other hotels because it has a mix of leisure business, corporate business, and conference business.
“We are not all tourist focused, it is only a percentage of our market.
“Tanoa has always been and will continue to be a local brand for local South Pacific market.
“Our business continues to grow every year and that is a combination of having a good standard product – we don’t over-promise and under-deliver.
“It’s Tanoa, its 4-star and we deliver it.”
Mr Ridling added that all of this was possible through the local support.
“Our main difference from other hotels is our philosophy on family focus,” he said.
“Our management is owned by the Reddy Group and that philosophy of a family business comes through the business.
“We continue to not just be a Fijian company anymore, but we are a Pacific company – We are already in Samoa and Tonga.”
Mr Ridling revealed that in the next 12 months, the Tanoa Hotel Group aims on securing another hotel on another island in the South Pacific.
“We are visiting and looking into another country to expand,” he said.
