26 November 2017Vice President Teva Rohfritsch visited Brussels on a working meeting with the head of the unit with the Head of Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) Unit, Denis Salord, gave an update on Polynesian issues as well as technical assistance and support that can be provided by the European Commission.
Teva Rohfritsch then signed the programming document of the 11 th EDF, on behalf of the President of French Polynesia, with the European Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, Neven Mimica.
Vice President and Commissioner Mimica traded on the disbursement of the 10 th EDF and on the 11 th EDF, which amounts to 3.6 billion French Pacific francs, the largest allocation granted to an OCT. An envelope that will be entirely dedicated to tourism development in our islands with, in the key, many spin-offs in terms of job creation;
Moreover, the French Polynesia is invited to participate on 23 and 24 February 2018 to 16 th OCT-EU Forum, which is one of the three organs of dialogue between the OCTs and the EU. It brings together each year the OCT authorities, the representatives of the Member States and the Commission.
The vice president was thus able to confirm the links that unite French Polynesia with the European Union and the active participation of the country in the elaboration of the next regional EDF which will amount to 4.3 billion Fcfp.
