Nadi, 6 June 2022 – MasterChef Australia 2021 winner, Justin Narayan, and his wife Esther, are in the country! Following Justin’s win last year, Tourism Fiji seized the opportunity and invited the couple to Fiji to explore our culinary landscape and to share their experiences on social platforms like Instagram and Facebook.
Since arriving on Monday 30 May, the couple have learnt all about salt harvesting with the team at South Sea Salt Fiji located in Momi, celebrated their anniversary with a meal at Sails Restaurant at Port Denarau Marina, dinned at KANU Restaurant in Nadi and stayed at Turtle Island Resort last week.
Tourism Fiji Chief Executive Officer Brent Hill said, “This was a unique opportunity for us to showcase what Fiji has to offer as a culinary destination and we’re always looking to highlight the amazing cuisine we have here in Fiji. Over the last few days, Justin has been posting stories and sharing his foodie journey through Fiji with his 116,000 followers on IG and thousands more on Facebook. The images of food are stunning and reflect what we know – that Fiji is really growing as a foodie destination!”
Tourism Fiji has also been nominated for the World Culinary Awards 2022 under the category: Oceania’s Best Culinary Destination 2022 – Fiji.
Mr Hill added, “This is a testament to what Fiji can do and achieve! We all know Fiji has some amazing, delicious food across the many cultures that make up modern-day Fiji, due in large part to the fresh produce we can get access to in Fiji. So, for us we’re happy with this golden opportunity with Justin, which is a great way to showcase what Fiji has to offer visitors,” explained Brent.
Voting for the awards opens on 7 June and will run until 31 August and we encourage industry partners and the culinary community to vote using this link here
