Tourism Training And Tourism Forum: New Zealand As An Example

The Minister of Tourism, Nicole Bouteau, presented the 3 rd edition of the Forum of Trainings and Trades Tourism, which will take place on October 26, under the banner of the Presidency.

The Forum aims to raise the awareness of young people in school or in search of social integration, especially projectleaders, to tourism professions and thus allow them to open up to new opportunities.

This year, the Ministry of Tourism resumes the organization of this event in partnership with the Assembly of French Polynesia and its Tourism Commission. The guest of honor for this new 2017 edition is New Zealand, a country known for its tourism development in the areas of green tourism, nautical tourism, cruise tourism and yachting, but also for its linguistic exchanges. between young students and students from our two countries.

The sponsor of the event will be Maui Shan, a 30-year-old Polynesian girl who, with the opening of her youth hostel, the “Mahana Lodge Hostel & Backpacker” located in the heart of Papeete, to participate in the diversification of the offer tourist accommodation in French Polynesia.

The Forum will be organized around four poles: “Training-Employment”, with a space hosting services, institutions, public and private organizations that offer training in tourism professions, “the professions”, a center led by professionals from the who come to speak about their sector of activity, their career and their experience, a third pole articulated around the “Creation of activities”, dedicated to the carriers of projects wishing to develop an activity in the sector of the tourism, and finally , a fourth pole, “Digital”, which will focus on new businesses, tourism activities that develop through digital.

At the same time, two round tables will be organized around the theme of the World Tourism Organization: “ Sustainable tourism for development” .

This third edition of the event will focus on presenting a map of the training provided and the training organizations for tourism trades existing in Polynesia. “Job descriptions” by themes (accommodation, transport, activities, among others) presenting the tourism professions will also be made available to the public.

The Tourism Training and Tourism Forum is part of the Tourism Development Strategy of French Polynesia 2015-2020, in the section relating to the establishment of the conditions for tourism development.
