Air Chathams to resume Auckland to Norfolk Island
22 April 2021Turama Pacific Travel Group, which operates (among other things) the Island Hopper Vacations brand, has a number of new Cook Islands tours and packages available for the trade and their clients. Managing director, Robert Skews, says the last few months have given the company an opportunity to develop programmes around the little visited southern and northern island groups, plus private tours and experiences around Rarotonga.
‘In the northern group, we visit Pukapuka, Manihiki and Penryhn over four nights, five days and we’ve got departure dates fixed from March 2022. In the southern group we have eight-night packages that visit four islands – Magaia, Mauke, Mitiaro and Atiu. Accommodation, breakfast, dinner and tours are all included.’
Some of the private tours on offer around Rarotonga include private snorkelling and bbq lunch with Captain Tama’s cruises, Going Troppo night life, Island arts and crafts, safaris and walking discovery tours to name a few.
There are also staycation type threenight packages, which can be added on to in the outer islands. Skews is confident the New Zealand-Cooks bubble will be operating by the end of May and is assuring the trade here that the destination will immediately offer a safe and quality experience for clients.
‘Most of the restaurants and bars will be open and ready for business. The Covid tracing app has had an upgrade and the new Covid rapid testing lab is due for commissioning soon. ‘We’re ramping up all of our operations and all of our packages are commissionable at 12% to retail agents.
