USA Winners Of Ori Tahiti World Cup 2018

192 candidates from all over the world had to use their technique and imagination to win the Ori Tahiti World Cup 2018.

Finally, the United States won the Ori Tahiti World Cup 2018 by winning the Raatira special prize, the prize for the best costume, the title of best dancer and best dancer.

192 candidates from the United States, England, New Zealand, Japan and Tahiti participated in this second edition of Heiva International. The jury composed of Makau Foster, Fabien Dinard, Poehei Temaiana or Lorenzo and Teiki had to judge passionate candidates who rivaled technique and grace. Of the 86 candidates came from the fenua and 103 were from the United States.

Finally the American Tylon Buendia wins the title of best dancer. Tallon Pedregosa, also American and former title holder, is second followed by Teihotu Teuira who represented Polynesia. In dancers, the podium is composed only of Americans. The 18-year-old Maile Charfauros won the title of best dancer in front of her compatriots Kanani Asuega and Leolani Gallardo. The title of the best group is still a group from French Polynesia. So it’s the troupe: Pupu Ori Tahina no Uturoa who wins the first prize.

The band Tevaka, at the origin of the soundtrack of the cartoon Vaiana, closed the show.
