Vacancy 02/18 – ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

The South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) invites applications for the position of Administrative Assistant to join its Secretariat located in Suva, Fiji.  Representing 18 member countries, SPTO fosters synchronisation and collaboration amongst its members on Tourism matters.
The purpose of this role is to support the Executive Office in its primary functions.  The person is expected to assist in execution of executive duties as well as carry out administrative and logistics duties. This role is critical for the smooth operation of the Office and the attainment of its goals as well as for the long-term growth of the organisation.
We are looking for someone who: has a ‘can do’ attitude with strong eye for details, quick to learn, is very organised, excellent computer skills, emphatic to all levels and cultures present in the organisation and can empower and effectively engage staff, has the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural environment, is committed to excellent customer service and capacity development initiatives. To be considered for this position you will have:

• a minimum of a tertiary diploma and at least 3 years’ experience in executive support;
• or a tourism/business degree (no experience required);

The candidate must also be skilled in establishing and maintaining robust relationships, exhibit excellent computer and communication skills, both written and verbal English.
Remuneration offered will be determined according to the successful candidate’s relevant experience and skills.
