The NCTMC will monitor and evaluate each of the cruise tourism segments (cruise ships, expedition ships and yachting) under the guidelines provided by the Vanuatu Sustainable Tourism Policy 2019 to 2030 and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) destination criteria. This will require ongoing social and environmental impact assessment and analysis to reduce longer-term cost implications. A sustainable cruise tourism approach will aim for three key elements of success:
- ???????? ?????????
- ?????? ?????????????
- ????????????? ??????????????
This provides a policy framework to reduce high leakages from tourism earnings, develop measures to minimise the impact of cruise tourism on the environment and the traditional culture, protect traditional knowledge, protect areas of high biodiversity value, promote Ni Vanuatu entrepreneurship and instil Vanuatu values to guide how the cruise tourism industry is developed.
