Port-Vila, Vanuatu – Thursday, 11 August 2022: The Vanuatu Tourism Office and the Vanuatu Post Ltd are excited to re-launch the Vanuatu Volcano Post Box, at the rim of the world’s most accessible volcano, Mt. Yasur, on the island of Tanauta or widely known as Tanna, on Thursday, 11 August 2022.
“Mt. Yasur is one of the world’s wonders, and we are proud to re-launch the Volcano Post Office Box today. The Vanuatu Post Ltd is one of the longstanding partners to the VTO and we have worked together in the past, to feature this volcano post-office box – on Mt. Yasur and this has proven many fond memories of international tourists posting their favorite moments and Yasur experiences through a post card right infront of the Yasur Volcano, and what a life time experience this is!” says Adela Issachar Aru, Chief Executive Officer of the Vanuatu Tourism Office.
The Vanuatu Post Yasur Volcano Box is branded with the Vanuatu Tourism Office’s domestic ‘Sapotem Lokol Turisim’ campaign logo and the international focused-brand messaging “Answer the Call of Vanuatu”. Both domestic travelers and international visitors will have the options to post their letters and postcards, and photograph their special Vanuatu moments as they glance over the wide ash plain and rumbling Mt. Yasur.

Now that our borders have reopened, we are confident that this Volcano post office box will be another key attraction for our international visitors as they visit the giant and enchanting Mt. The re-launch of the Vanuatu Volcano Post Office Box was officially opened by the Office of the Hon. Minister of Tourism, Trade, Commerce & Ni-Vanuatu Business to coincides with the first-ever edition of Titan FX Rally Tanna, which takes place on the ash-plain of Mt Yasur from 12 – 13 August 2022. Organized by the Vanuatu Rally Championship (VRC), the event will bring together rally cars, motorbikes, quads and buggys competing over the two days.
The Vanuatu Tourism Office, as the major sponsor of the sport event, represents the Government of Vanuatu’s commitment to implement the government’s policy directives for regrowing and diversifying the industry. It aims to grow niche tourism product offering such as sports and domestic tourism offerings to facilitate travel for sports, recreation and leisure. The VTO has facilitated travels for over 200 rally professionals and other participants, through its Travel & Information Center (TIC) together with Air Vanuatu and the Tanna tourism industry. The event is expected to gather a large crowd of spectators and fans from within the communities in Tanna, during the two days.
