Pacific Explorer Visits Nuku’alofa And Neiafu
19 October 2017Attention New Zealand-based Niuean’s: Fancy your creative skills and keen to visit (or revisit) “The Rock”?
If so, Niue Tourism wants to hear – or more accurately, see – from you. To mark Niuean Language Week (15-21 October) the Tourism Office has put up a trip for two to the island; to win it, you just have to make a 10-second video explaining why you should get the tickets.
Niue Tourism Head of Marketing Felicity Bollen says the competition is aimed at Niueans living in New Zealand and NZ-born Niueans – almost 24,000 at the 2013 Census – keen to reconnect with their culture and roots, whether returning to the island or going there for the first time. “We are looking forward to seeing how creative and persuasive people can be.”
The video will be judged on originality and creativity, with the prize including airfares and accommodation. The winner will receive return flights from New Zealand and a seven-night stay in a share twin room at the Scenic Matavai Resort with a complimentary tropical breakfast for two.
To enter individuals must submit a link to a 10-second, publicly viewable video about why they should win a trip to Niue, and register their details online. Travel dates for the trip are between 1 January and 1 April 2018 or 1 October to 1 December 2018. Visit www.niueisland.com/win to enter and see a full list of the terms and conditions. Entries close on 31 October 2017.
