Cook Islands Tourism Corporation Appoints New Chief Executive Officer

Nadi, 22 April 2022 – Westpac Fiji has signed on to be a Gold Sponsor for Tourism Fiji’s annual premier event, the Fijian Tourism Expo, scheduled to be held in Nadi next month.
The tourism expo allows international buyers to meet and do business with exhibiting companies in Fiji and aims to create awareness of Fiji as a tourism destination to the global travel market.
During the signing of the agreement, Westpac Fiji Chief Executive, Shane Smith said “We recognise the significance of this event to Fiji’s economy especially now when our tourism industry is getting back on its feet. We appreciate the work that Tourism Fiji is doing to bring more visitors to our shores and are proud to support that work through sponsorship of this important Expo.”
This year’s expo will be the first face-to-face event since 2019 and is the perfect opportunity to showcase the depth and breadth of products and experiences Fiji has to offer visitors.
Tourism Fiji Chief Executive, Brent Hill said: “This event is crucial for Fiji’s tourism industry who find great value in the appointments and meetings they have at the event. This year we have a range of high value international buyers from Australia, New Zealand, Europe and USA and we’re excited to be welcoming all of them back to Fiji in May. We are very thankful to Westpac for their support and belief in the recovery of the tourism industry.”
The Fijian Tourism Expo 2022 will be held at the Denarau Island Conference Centre at the Sheraton Fiji Resort & Spa from 11 – 13 May.
