The South Pacific’s newest conferencing destination, Niue, has received a high level opening this week with the opening of the Matavai Conference Centre Niue. Official proceedings included a high level diplomatic delegation from New Zealand with the Rt. Hon Bill English, Prime Minister of New Zealand and Premier of Niue Sir Toke Talagi.

2017 has been declared as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for development by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), reflecting the strong commitment of the tourism sector to achieving the 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), adopted by governments in 2015.
